Jasmine Norwood

Miss Jasmine resides in Bear, Delaware and has been dancing for 19 years. She first began her professional dance studies at Asbury Park Dance Academy located in New Jersey. Her primary focus was Ballet. Jasmine also has experience in gymnastics where she competed in meets for 6 years receiving many first place ribbons and awards; her best event was the Floor Exercise.  After relocating to Delaware, she came across the wonderful Stage Lights Dance Studio as a place she would soon call home. In addition, Jasmine began her other training in Modern, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip-hop, where she learned from Platinum award winning teacher and choreographer, Miss Tamoya Taylor. During her years at Stage Lights, she had the pleasure and honor of becoming a member of the competitive travel team and participated in every recital since 2009. Some of her major roles include “Nala” in 2011 and “Princess Tiana” in 2014. Miss Jasmine graduated in 2018 from Stockton University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and Dance. During her tenure at Stockton, she was part of the Stockton Dance Company and Dance Team. Miss Jasmine has done performances at Philadelphia 76ers, Universal Dance Association, Virginia Mid-Atlantic Showcase, Koresh Dance Showcase, and lastly American College Dance Association. Other outside performances she has been a part of is Come Together Festival, Bruce Productions, Philadelphia Wilmington and Fringe, Baby Grand, Pieces of a Dream, and the Liberty Bowl. She was also a scholarship recipient for American Dance Festival and Diane Drulis Foundation and more. Stockton Dance Company has introduced her to working with people such as Rain Ross, Caitlyn Quin Pittenger, Beau Hancock, Chandra Moss-Thorne, Robert Moses Kin Company, Bryn Cohn, Germaul Barnes of Bill T. Jones, John Leher, Randy James director of “10 Hairy Legs” and Jae Hoon Kim who is a former member of Koresh Dance Company. Miss Jasmine aspires to teach, choreograph and mentor students who like herself have a passion for dance. Miss Jasmine will be a positive influence for her students who have the desire and passion to dance.
