A Native of Southern California, Jon Kennette first became involved with dance at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (Diploma C/O 2000). At the age of 17, Jon migrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to attend the University of the Arts on a partial Scholarship. Receiving his BFA in Modern dance Performance/Ballet Education (2004), Jon had the luxury of working under astounding dance specialists such as Ruth Andrien (Taylor), Gabe Masson (Limon), Scott Jovovich (Contemporary Ballet/Fosse) and Lavaughn Robinson (Tap) to name a few. Shortly after graduation Jon spent nine months at sea on the Disney wonder Cruise playing unforgotten roles. Jons’ show credits include The Nutcracker, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Crazy For You, Pippin, and Carmina Burana. Freelancing, Jon has been a part of Jose Limons’ “A Choreographic Offering” , “Fosse: a Review”, MOMIX (sponsored by Mercedes-Benz), and countless dance performance gigs by local Philadelphian artists. Company credits include JUNK (Dir. Brian Sanders), CelticFusion, Inverness, Scotland (Dir. Liam Harney), and Koresh, USA/S.Korea (Dir. Ronen Koresh). Jon also Co-Created and starred in a two-man dance cabaret entitled “Beware of Flying Objects.” “Mr. Jon” is thrilled to be apart of Stagelight. He is extremely dedicated to the ‘art’ of knowledge, and hopes to instill confidence, personal growth, kinesthetic/mental awareness, and love for life through ‘The Dance!’ |
